From marketing standing timber to improving wildlife habitat, we have a long-standing history of quality work. We have extensive experience in long-term forest management planning for estates, timber stand improvement, tree planting, prescribed fire, exotic species control, Greenbelt Tax Act forest management plans, resource conservation planning, and forest disease and pest treatment. We market and manage timber sales on a lump-sum or pay-as-cut basis, and require that buyers be fully insured, in good-standing among industry partners, and implement best management practices. We serve landowners with property ranging from 50 to 5,000+ acres, located across Tennessee, northern Georgia, and northern Alabama
President and Senior Forester Benjamin Myers founded Panther Creek Forestry in 2002. Since that time he has worked in all areas of the industry, including as a field forester, timber buyer, logger, and consulting forester. Panther Creek became a full service forestry consulting firm in 2008. Our team includes President, Ben Myers, along with our Business Development Manager, 2 full-time field foresters, a GIS specialist, Conservation programs specialist, staff biologist, seasonal interns, full-time forestry technicians, and 2 office support staff.
Benjamin Myers, President/Senior Forester
Ben Myers was born and raised in Warren County, TN, where his family has lived and farmed since 1837. The Myers Family farm spanned “Panther Creek,” and Ben grew up hiking through Myers Cove and the mountains surrounding the creek. Ben’s love of the outdoors led him to pursue an education in Forestry from the University of the South – Sewanee, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000. Ben resides in McMinnville with his wife and family, where he remains active in the local outdoors community, serving on the board of directors for the Friends of the South Cumberland State Park, and as a member of Friends of the Greenway. He is a TN Certified Burn Manager, American Tree Farm System Qualified Inspector, and member of the Kentucky/Tennessee Society of American Foresters. Ben currently serves as chairman of the Tree Farm Committee for the TN Forestry Association, and is a certified Technical Service Provider for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
